Give brief account of belief & practices of saints in maharashtra from 13-17th century

The saints of Maharashtra from 13th to 17th century had strong opposition towards social inequality and prevalence of caste differences in the society . They believed in the idea of equality for all human beings . The older Brahmanical ideals and practises of caste system , discrimination among different stratas of society , ill treatment or disrespect of women were rejected by them . They desired a harmonious society where every man gets his or her due respect and there is no discrimination of any kind . Namdev and Tukaram are two very famous saints of Maharashtra .
