There are three different types of cry genes. These genes are responsible for the production of crystalline proteins which helps in the destruction of the pests. The cry genes are cry IAC, cry IAB and cry IIAB. The gene cry IAB is responsible for the control of the corn borer pest. The genes cry IAC and cry IIAB is responsible for the control of the bollworms which attack the cotton plant.
