Solution

  • Solution- A solution is a homogeneous mixture of two or more substances. The proportion of the constituents can be varied to a certain limit.
  • Solutions are of two types-
  1. Aqueous solution- A solution in which water is taken as a solvent is known as an aqueous solution. Water is a universal solvent.
  2. Non-aqueous solution- A solution in which a solvent other than water is taken as a solvent is known as an non-aqueous solution. Example -alcohol, petrol, ether, benzene etc.
