1. Frequency is the number of oscillations passing per unit time.
2. Pitch is the characteristics of the sound that helps us to identify between the shrillness or flatness of the sound.
3. Pitch of sound depends upon the length, mass and tightness of the vibrating object.
4. It increases with increase in the tightness and increases with a decrease in the tightness of the vibrating object.
5. Examples- Screaming of children and buzzing of mosquitoes are some of the examples of high pitch sound.
6. Example- Roar of lion and beating of the drum is low pitch sounds.
7. Hence low and high pitch can be differentiated by the frequency of the sound wave.
