Give few examples to show that particles of matter are continuously moving.

1. The smell of food being cooked in the kitchen reaches us even from a considerable distance.

2. The fragrance of burning incense stick spreads all around.

3. The smell of perfume spreads throughout the room and reaches several metres away.

All these happen because the particles are continuously moving. When the temperature is increased, the movement of particles become faster. This is due to increase in their kinetic energy.
