  • Battle of Khanwa was fought between Mughal Emperor Babur and the Rajput forces led by Rana Sanga of Mewar.
  • The battle took place near the village of Khanwa, in Bharatpur District of Rajasthan on March 17 1527.
  • After winning the Panipat battle, Babur turned his attention to Rana Sanga of Mewar, the formidable Rajput king.
  • The Canons and Guns of Babur wreaked havoc in the opposition camp once again, resulting in the defeat of the Rajputs and Babur became the undisputed ruler of India.
  • After winning the battle Babur strengthened his position in both Delhi and Agra
  • Later, Babur conquered the forts of Gwalior,Dholpur and east of Agra.
