Plant tissue culture is a technique to culture cells, tissues or organs of a plant on a nutrient medium under sterile and controlled conditions for production of large numbers of the same plant in a short duration of time. This process is known as micro-propagation and helps to produce a large number of plantlets in a short duration which can be transferred to the crop field.
