Solution

The difference is as follows:

Blood group OBlood group AB
  1. People with blood type AB have antigens A and B on the surface of their RBCs but no antibodies to either antigen in their plasma. A person with blood group 'O' is known as a universal donor (since it lacks antigen) and may donate blood to anybody, i.e. A, B, AB, or O
  1. People with blood group O do not have any antigens, however, they do have antibodies to both antigens, A and B. An individual with blood group 'AB' is referred to as a universal receiver since they have both antigens but no antibodies and they only can receive blood from A, B, O
