Question

Give one example of the diffusion of a solid in another solid.

Open in App
Solution

Diffusion of solid into another solid is an extremely slow process. This is because the particles of solids do not move from their fixed positions and only vibrate.
When two metal blocks are placed close to each other and are left undisturbed for a few years, the particles of one metal diffuse into the other.
