Water pollutant:

Substances that are capable of deteriorating the water quality when present at a particular concentration are said to be water pollutants. Organic pollutants, inorganic pollutants, viruses and bacteria, suspended solids, nutrients and agricultural pollutants, heat, radioactive, and other pollutants are all types of water pollutants.

Example:

Wastewater (also known as sewage) released legally or illegally by a manufacturing, oil company, or wastewater treatment plant, as well as pollution from leaking septic systems, industrial pollution, and illegal dumping
