Open in App
Solution

Liquids:

  1. In liquids, the particles are loosely packed.
  2. In liquids, the spaces between the particles are slightly more than that in a solid. Though there is a quite strong force of attraction between the particles of a liquid that holds the particles together,
  3. This force is not enough to hold the particles in liquids in fixed positions. So that the particles of a liquid move from one position to another within the liquid.

Examples of Liquids :

Water, kerosene, petrol, alcohol, milk, etc.

“A liquid generally flows easily”:

A liquid generally flows easily because the particles of the liquid have the ability to slide over one another due to weaker inter-particle forces of attraction.
