Absorption of water by plants also depends on transpiration.

Solution

Explanation-

Transpiration-

  1. Plants continuously absorb water from the soil through their roots.
  2. The absorbed water is distributed to all parts of the plants through the xylem.
  3. Transpiration is the loss of water in the form of water vapor from the aerial parts of the plants.

Reason-

  1. Absorption of water is passive absorption.
  2. Due to transpiration, a force is created which causes the water to move upward from the roots of the plant by the xylem.
  3. This force is called transpirational pull.
  4. A gap is created due to transpirational pull which is filled by the absorption of water molecules.
  5. Thus, absorption of water by plants also depends on transpiration.
