Reason why ammonium nitrate is not used for the production of ammonia:
When Ammonium nitrate $(N H_{4} N O_{3})$ decomposes, it produces two products.
These products are Nitrous oxide and water vapor.
However, Ammonium nitrate is explosive in nature.
Due to these reasons, Ammonium nitrate is not favored for ammonia production.
