Solution

Cooking pots are provided with wooden or plastic handles because:

  1. The objects which are poor conductors of heat are called Insulators. They do not allow heat to pass through them. For example plastic, water, wood, air, etc.
  2. As plastic or wood are insulators, they do not allow heat to pass through them.
  3. Thus, to prevent burning or scarring due to the hot metal of the cooking pots, the cooking vessels are provided with wooden or metal handles.
