Water cannot be used as a thermometric liquid.

1. Water cannot be used in a thermometer because of its higher freezing point and lower boiling point than other liquids.
2. If water is used in a thermometer, it will start phase change at $0^{°}C$ and ${100}^{°}C$ and it can not able to measure the temperature out of this range.

Hence, water cannot be used as a thermometric liquid.
