Give reason for the following you take sometime to see objects when you suddenly enter a dark room

Dear student,
When we enter a dark room the pupil of our eye dilates so that more light can enter inside the eye, therefore it takes time for the eye to adjust to the new surroundings and which allows us to see in dark after sometime.
