Open in App
Solution

Lead(Pb) is not used in the preparation of hydrogen because it reacts with dilute sulphuric acid(H2SO4 ) or hydrochloric acid (HCl) and forms an insoluble coating of lead sulphate(PbSO4) or lead chloride (PbCl2).

Pb(s)+H2SO4(aq.)ā†’PbSO4(aq.)+H2(g)
