Give reason: 'The motion of satellites around planets is considered as an accelerated motion.

Step 1: Acceleration

  1. A change in velocity with respect to time gives acceleration.
  2. Acceleration (a)=v-ut , here v is final velocity and u is initial velocity and t is time.
  3. The direction of motion in a circular motion is constantly changing. When the direction changes, the velocity changes as well. As a result, circular motion is an accelerated motion.

Step 2: Reason

  1. Since satellites revolve around their planets and therefore the motion of satellites around planets is a uniform circular motion.
  2. Thus, during their motion, the speed remains constant, while the direction of motion changes continuously.
  3. As a result, there is a change in their velocity.

Therefore, the motion of satellites around their planets is considered accelerated motion.
