Question

Give reason why the mud stuck to a vehicle flies off tangentially during the motion of the wheel

Open in App
Solution

This is due to the fact that when the vehicle is in motion the tires rotate. Because of the rotation the mud in the tires is subjected to centrifugal force which makes it to move in a outward circle but as soon the mud losses it's contact from the tires the angular velocity increases and becomes almost linear and comes out tangentially
