Give reasons a copper used for making wires .b silver tarnishes

a) Three reasons:

1. Copper is a good conductor and has a very low resistance.
2. It is ductile (i.e. easy to stretch in a wire)
3. It is cheap.

b) Pure silver does not tarnish. But, the silver jewellery contains some copper, which reacts with atmospheric moisture and sulphur which makes the silver tarnish.
