Give reasons.
(a) Letters appear laterally inverted in a plane mirror.
(b) Numerous images are seen in the ‘Palace of Mirrors’.
(c) The image formed in water is of the same size as the object.
(d) We do not see an image in transparent glass.
(a) Letters appear laterally inverted in a plane mirror because mirror follows the law of reflection of light.
(b) Numerous images are seen in the ‘Palace of Mirrors’ due to two reasons:
(i) There might be more than one mirror.
(ii) An image in one mirror acts as virtual object for other mirror.
(c) The image formed in water is of the same size as the object because it behaves as a plane mirror.
(d) Transparent glass allows light to pass through them, which means there is no reflection of light which is necessary to see the image. Due to this reason, we do not see any image in a transparent glass.
