Question

Give reasons for the following

1. Heating hydrated copper sulphate crystal is deemed a chemical change.

2. Efflorescence is minimum during humid conditions.

Solution

1)
If we heat a hydrated copper sulphate the blue colour disappears thiz is due to the evarparation . when we heat the hydrated copper sulphate it bcz of heat the water molecules will get evaporated n tht turns into white

as its chemical formula is CuSO4.5H2O

when the water evaropes the vapours sticks to the test tube n thn again reacts with copper sulphate n forms hydrated copper sulphate.

2)Efflorescence, spontaneous loss of water by a hydrated salt, which occurs when the aqueous vapor pressure of the hydrate is greater than the partial pressure of the water vapour in the air. So in himid condition, it will be minimum
