Solution

(a) A rectangle can be thought of as a special parallelogram because its opposite sides are equal and parallel.
(b) Opposite sides of a parallelogram are equal. In a square, the opposite sides are parallel and the lengths of all four sides are equal. So, square satisfies the condition of a paralleogram. Therfore, a square can be thought of as a special parallelogram.
