Give reasons for the following:-
1) For Delhi sultans a slave was better than a son.
2) Delhi sultans were too keen on building mosk every year.

1) A slave was better than a son because slave was obedient every time without resisting their orders and sons never obey their orders.Thus, king could trust and rely upon them. But sons could disobey their fathers, protest for the throne and even kill them.
2) Delhi sultans were too keen on building mosques every year because:
- Architecture reveals the power, position , material wealth of the rulers.It represented their domination and rule through buildings, fortress, temples, mosques.
- Delhi sultans built mosques to create a sense of belief and identity among the Muslims.
- It gave them a common belief, code of conduct to be followed by all Muslims who came from different backgrounds.
- It also enabled the sultans to claim to be protector of Islamic faith.
