Cross-breeding:

  1. Cross-breeding is done between Indian breeds of cows and European bulls like Brown Swiss and Jersey.
  2. This is done to improve milk production in the new breeds of cows.
  3. The breeds like Karan swiss and Karan fries are produced as a result of cross-breeding that produces about 2-3 times more milk as compared to the previous Indian breeds.
