2. The process of digestion starts with physical and mechanical processes in the buccal cavity or mouth. In the buccal cavity, only the starch part of carbohydrate is digested and that too partially.
3. The food materials in the mouth are mixed with the digestive juice called saliva secreted from the salivary gland by the movement of the tongue.
