→ The particles in gases move very quickly in all directions. As a result of this random motion of particles of gas, particles can readily move into spaces between the particles of the other gas. This spontaneous intermixing of gases is called diffusion.
→ The smell of hot sizzling food reaches us several meters away because of diffusion, and diffusion increases with an increase in temperature.
