Solution

Wire cages:

  1. Poultry birds are kept in constricted wire cages (also known as battery cages) or in poultry sheds.
  2. The birds are constrained in these cages to assist in the process of egg collection, bird feeding and waste collection.
  3. Poultry are also kept here in order to protect them from predators such as cats and dogs.
  4. Since the use of wire cages helps in maintenance of hygiene, it is also said to prevent the spread of diseases between the birds.
