Question

Give reasons for the following statement.

A heavier body has higher density.

Open in App
Solution

  1. The ratio of the mass of the body to the volume occupied by the body is called density.
  2. Density(ρ)=Mass(m)Volume(V), here density and mass are directly proportional to each other.
  3. For an equal volume, if the body mass is high compared to a lighter body, the body will possess a higher density.

Hence, a heavier body has a higher density if it has equal volume to a lighter body.
