Solution

Burrowing animals in the desert:

  1. Desert animals like camels have well-padded feet which help them walk on hot sand during the day.
  2. But animals with smaller legs or no legs like rats and snakes stay inside the burrows deep inside the sand to avoid the intense heat during the day.
  3. They move out of the burrows at night after the surrounding gets cooler.
  4. Thus, to survive in intense heat animals like rats and snakes stay in burrows deep in the sand.
