Give reasons for the following statements
Why covalent compounds
(i) are bad conductors of electricity.
(ii) have low melting and boiling points.

1) as they contain molecules and not free ions,which are responsible for the conductance of electricity(non-polar covalent compound).
2) due to weak Vander waals force of attraction between molecules .less amount of energy is required to break the force of attraction.
