Question

Give reasons for the following
A 40 watt bulb and 60 watt bulb though have different intensities cannot change the kinetic energy of photoelectrons produced by them.

Open in App
Solution

This is because kinetic energy of emitted photoelectrons in the photoelectric efffect, is independent of intensity of the incoming radiation. So, that's why although 40 watt and 60 watt bulb have different intensities , they cannot change the kinetic energy of photoelecton produced by them.
