A) The inner membrane of the mitochondria is folded to make more surface area where chemical reactions can take place. The more the folds, the bigger the surface. These folds are called cristae. The molecules and some of the enzymes that are responsible for making ATP are situated in and on the folds of these inner membranes.

1). Soap is a hypertonic solution with high amounts of dissolved salts as solutes.
2. When we,Wash clothes with soap solution, the concentration of salts ( solutes) is more in soap than in cells of hand fingers.
3. Due to this, Water molecules present in hands will move from low concentration region to high concentration region (soap solution).
4. This process is known as Ex-OSMOSIS where water molecules move through semi permeable membrane.
5. Due to this,skin of your finger shrink when you wash clothes for a long time.
