Prokaryotic cells do not have a true nucleus and membrane-bound organelles.
Bacteria have nucleoid which contains single chromosome.
Bacterial cells lack a well-defined nucleus and membrane-bound organelles so the bacterial cell is prokaryotic.
Hence, due to the absence of well-developed nucleus and membrane bound cell organelles bacteria are prokaryotes
