Root is a non-green underground part primarily involved in anchorage and absorption of water and minerals. However, some roots get modified to perform different functions like storage, nitrogen fixation etc.
Part 2: Roots modified for storage.
Roots are modified for storage of reserve food material. Examples of plants with roots modified for storage are as follows: ● Radish (fusiform root) ● Carrot (conical root) ● Turnip (napiform root) ● Mirabilis (tuberous root)
