Solution
Meninges:
Three sheets of connective tissues that cover the human brain and spinal cord are called meninges.
The innermost, thin and highly vascular layer is called the pia mater, the middle layer is called the arachnoid layer and the outermost, protective and tough layer is called the dura mater.
It protects the brain and spinal cord from mechanical shocks and injuries provides a passageway for fluids, nerves and vessels and also holds the nervous system in its place.
