Tropic hormone:

  1. Tropic hormones are a group of hormones that stimulate other endocrine glands so as to produce their particular hormones.
  2. They are produced and secreted by the anterior pituitary gland.
  3. They play a vital role in influencing the function, growth, and nutrition of other endocrine cells.
  4. They include growth hormone (GH), prolactin (PRL), adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), and gonadotropin hormone (secretes luteinizing hormone, LH and follicle-stimulating hormone, FSH).
