Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is present inside the nucleus of eukaryotic cells and is slightly negatively charged naturally.
To pack the long DNA inside the nucleus, positively charged histone proteins are present around the DNA strands.
Such type of organization of DNA and histone proteins is termed as a Nucleosome.
The complex consisting of a DNA strand and a core of histones is called nucleosome.
