Solution
Pituitary Gland:
The pituitary gland is sometimes called the ‘master gland’ as it controls the function of other endocrine glands through its hormonal secretions.
The pituitary is connected to the hypothalamus by the hypophysial portal system and co-function to control all the other endocrine secretions of the body.
Hormones like ACTH, FSH, LH, TSH, etc secreted by the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland stimulate other endocrine glands to release their secretions, hence indirectly controlling them.
Thus for such reason pituitary gland is sometimes called the master gland.
