Presbyopia (old age long-sightedness):

1. Presbyopia is the most common eye defect in elderly people who are unable to read clearly and comfortably.
2. Most of the time, the near point slowly precedes away and the person may suffer from both myopia and hypermetropia.
3. This defect is caused due to weak ciliary muscles and the hardening of the eye lens.
4. Presbyopia can be rectified by wearing bifocal lenses where the upper part is the concave lens and the lower part is the convex lens.
