Nervous tissue contains two categories of cells-neurons and neuroglia.
Neurons are highly specialized nerve cells that generate and conduct nerve impulses. It has a cell body and a nucleus. The cell body extends to form the axon. The axons are often covered by a myelin sheath. The signals/impulses are transported through a cell body into the neuron terminal, which is collected on the dendrite of another neuron.
Neuroglia is supporting cells that provide physical sport, remove debris, and provide electrical insulation.
