Striated muscles:

1. These muscles are voluntary muscles and they can be controlled by one's will and are found in the feet, hands, pharynx, etc.
2. These muscles are also known as striped muscles because when they are observed under a microscope, alternate light or dark bands known as striations are seen.
3. The cells are long and cylindrical in shape and are arranged in bundles.
4. They are multinucleated and have many nuclei.
5. The nuclei are present at the periphery, i.e., below the sarcolemma.
6. The sarcolemma contains bundles of contractile elements known as myofibrils.
