  2. The bacterium Neisseria gonorrhoea causes Gonorrhoea.

Examples of sexually transmitted diseases caused by viruses are:

  1. The human immunodeficiency virus causes AIDS(acquired immunodeficiency syndrome)
  2. The human papillomavirus causes genital warts.

Contraceptive method to prevent STDs:

The contraceptive method that is most effective to prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases is a condom. It prevents the mixing of body fluids during sexual contact.
