Hydrated substance

  • The crystals of some salt contain water called water of crystallization.
  • This water of crystallization gives the shape of crystals. Such salts are said to be hydrated substance
  • Water of crystallization: The fixed amount of water that is associated with hydrated crystals which is an integral part of the crystal, is said to be the water of crystallization. it is also known as the water of hydration.
  • Sometimes, it gives the color of crystal such as Copper sulfate which is blue in color.
