  1. The micropyle is the small opening present in the seeds through which water enters seeds.
  2. The micropyle is present in the ovule of the seed.
  3. It is present at the tip where the integument does not cover the nucellus in the ovule of the seed.
  4. The pollen tube enters the ovule through the micropyle during fertilization.
  5. It absorbs water and helps in seed germination.
