Give the mathematical form of the following (a) Boyle's law (b) Charle's law

Open in App
Solution

(a) Boyle's Law

It state that “at a constant temperature, The volume of a given mass of a gas is inversely proportional to the applied pressure”.

Mathematical form

V×1P

and P1V1=P2V2(at constant temperature)

(b) Charle's Law

It states that “ the volume of a given mass of gas is directly proportional to its absolutely temperature at constant pressure.”

Mathematical form

V×T

V1T2=V2T1 (at constant pressure)
