Solution

Digestive juice: Also known as gastric juice, it is secreted by the gastric glands present in the stomach. The gastric juice contains certain enzymes which partially digest a protein component of the food particles and makes the food acidic.

Saliva: The secretion of salivary glands, present in the mouth is known as saliva. It carries out the digestion of around 30% of carbohydrate component of food in the mouth.

Stomach: The large bag−like part of the alimentary canal is known as the stomach. It contains gastric glands which secrete digestive juices for the partial digestion of proteins present in the food.

Small intestine: The long and narrow coiled tube that begins after the stomach ends is known as the small intestine. It is the part of the alimentary canal where the complete digestion of all components of food takes place.

Large intestine: The large intestine is one of the organs involved in the digestion of food. The large intestine is around 5 feet in length and 2.5 inches in diameter. It is known as the large intestine because it is twice as wide as small intestine. It reabsorbs water from the undigested food material and converts it into feaces. The faeces is then excreted out by anus.

Anus: The anus is the part of the alimentary canal from where the undigested food is expelled out of the body in the form of faeces.
