Kidneys are the primary excretory organ for the excretion of liquid waste products in the form of urine.
They are bean-shaped organs.
Position
Kidneys are protected by the last two ribs and they are present just below the diaphragm on both left and right sides.
The right kidney is slightly lower than the left kidney because the liver takes up much space on the right side and pushes it down.
