Give the relationship between planning and controlling

Dear student, Planning precedes controlling in the process of management as planning provides us targets and controlling tells us as to why these targets could be achieved or not. Both Controlling and Planning are forward looking as both of them provides plan of action for future. Planning is the first function and control is the last one. Both are dependent upon each other.
