Solution
The structure of protein wherein amino acids are joined together with the aid of a specific type of covalent bonds called the peptide bonds, thus, forming a peptide chain is known as the primary structure of the protein.
It is the primary structure that determines the mechanism of action of the protein. It also specifies the order of amino acids in the polypeptide chain, thus defining the way in which the protein folds into a three-dimensional structure, which in turn determines the biological function of the protein.
